The meals are full of nutrition with measured kilocalories and protein which has resulted in visible improvement in the children’s health indicators, ultimately leading to better cognition and better learning outcomes. This has encouraged the organization to use its vast experience to provide food items both in cooked form and as dry-ration to the destitute in the area.
The Zero Hunger Food Bank has been set up by the Lotus Petal Foundation as an attempt to reduce hunger and to provide sufficient nutrition in adequate quantities to those most in need. The objectives of the platform are to provide relief food supply during calamities and humanitarian emergencies, supply healthy meals to school children in government and non-profit schools and provide supplementary nutrition to address long-term poor nutrition issues in children from 0 to 5 years of age.
School meals are also prepared and distributed under the initiative to provide supplementary nutrition to address long-term poor nutrition issues in children. Freshly cooked, nutritious meals are prepared for the school children each day in the FSSAI registered school kitchen. The meals are distributed to the students of Vidyananda School, Pratishthan Learning Center and also supplied to the school children in government and non-profit schools.
